New Auditioning Students

We are so excited that you are interested in becoming a Dreyfoos student!

We are a public arts high school located in West Palm Beach. Our students take a full load of rigorous academic coursework in addition to two arts classes in their selected major per year. You MUST be a full-time student with us for all 4 years of high school as we only offer the 24-credit diploma for graduation. We offer AP, AICE, Dual Enrollment, and Honors level courses.

Our art areas are communications, dance, digital arts & photography, music (band, keys, strings, vocal), theatre (acting, music, technical), and visual arts.  You must audition and earn a qualifying score in order to be entered into the lottery where the computer then selects who becomes a Dreyfoos student in the fall.

Please read through our guidelines carefully as they outline exactly what you will need to know to successfully prepare for your audition. Accompanying YouTube videos are also available, walking a student through the entire audition process.

Eligibility and Lottery

A student will be scored by three adjudicators. The consensus rating from those three adjudicators will provide a score from 1 to 5 on each element. The consensus score of each element will be averaged to produce the final, qualifying score.

  • 9th Grade - 4.25 or higher
  • 10th Grade - 4.50 or higher
  • 11th Grade - 4.75 or higher
  • 12th Grade - 4.90 or higher

Other requirements for eligibility: -Minimum 2.0 GPA -Resident of Palm Beach County & -Pass audition

You can audition for two art programs at Dreyfoos but you must rank them according to your preference.  You will NOT get your second choice if you pass your first choice audition! (example: first choice- music band, second choice- music, strings)

Please note that if you do not pass your first choice but you do pass your second choice, you still may be waitlisted as all those who picked that art area first choice and passed the audition may have filled the allotted seats already.
